Babies Who Brunch

Bastian and his mama K

Bastian and I hitting up “Rue B” in the East Village on Sunday Brunch 2014

My name is Kristen Ruhlin, I’m a new mama to a boy named Bastian. That’s right, Bastian- no “Se”- just like the kid in “The Neverending Story”. I’ve been working as an actress in New York and Los Angeles since I graduated college from Ohio State University several years ago and since moving to NY I have become a total foodie…from diners to dives to Per Se (I’m pretty sure Oprah has eaten here). Also, I’m not 300 pounds, not that there’s anything wrong with that, but just for the record. I just like me some good grub. FYI, I grew up in WV so it’s ok for me to use southern slang too.

This blog is all about hitting the top restaurants  with BIG strollers, tiny babies in big cities. So check in to see where Bastian and I have ventured and if we were asked to leave once they saw our HUGE SUV of a stroller roll in(we have a Bugaboo Cameleon, it’s big). We’re eaten’ food, burpin babies and taken names.

Stay tuned to where we’ll be hitting up for Labor Day and the US Open 2014.

RANKING: Riding Dirty (1)- the lowest of the low;  Strollin (5)- kindly asked us to hit the road; Rollin (10)- these ballers know how to roll.

The Spot:  “Rue B” 188 Avenue B, New York, NY 10009 (212) 358-1700

  • Baby B Rank:  Rollin– they were more than accommodating to give us the larger space for our big A#$ stroller. Even though it got busy they never made us hit the road. Not a ton of loud drunks that could scare the baby either. We were a group of 7 and waited less than 10 min.
  • Food: It’s ok – Egg Corleone was good, salmon plate could have done without. Drinks are great and well priced plus can’t beat free w. food.
  • Price: Awesome $12.95 Brunch which includes a coffee, and mixed drink.
  • Location:  East Village Ave. B and 14th

Part of the secret of success in life is to eat what you like and let the food fight it out inside.
